Earlier this week, I went for a routine mammogram. Nothing out of the ordinary, everything was business as usual -- except for one teeny detail: they changed one of the markers.
There are two kinds of markers: first, a kind of tape which can be cut off in strips and affixed over any visible scars/biopsy sites so that the radiologist reading the films knows that something happened previously in that area; and second, some kind of adhesive nipple markers to give the radiologist a landmark in the films. In years past, those second markers have been little circles with a metal dot. They always worked fine, but were difficult to peel off afterward. Eeesh. This year, though, someone got smart, and those markers were shaped like Band-aids: adhesive to the sides of the metal dot, not directly underneath. That was EXCELLENT. So much easier to remove.
Sometimes, it really is the little things that make a difference.
There is a Band-aid-shaped marker affixed
to the bottom of this pamphlet I received.
Do you see it? So much better.
